Reliable and Easy To Use: The Interlinear Bible is designed to provide the serious Bible student an easy to use text format of all the Hebrew, Aramaic words contained in the Masoretic Text and all the Greek words contained in the Textus Receptus or Received Text. These are the Bible texts which have been “received” down many centuries and have always had worldwide acceptance because the texts are virtually identical. Many thousands of copies of these texts have been preserved even to this day. However, over the past few centuries other Bible manuscripts, although few in number and primarily Greek texts, have been “discovered” and given credibility by the higher critics based upon their belief that the texts predate the Received Text copies. This credibility is given despite the fact those few in number or minority texts contain many hundreds and in some cases thousands of differences to the more numerous texts passed down through the generations. Despite these differences, most modern translations of the Bible now rely upon the minority texts especially in the New Testament Books. The result is that some Bible verses now read somewhat differently in the modern English versions from translations made from the Masoretic and Received Texts.
The Best Reference Tool: For those students who would desire to look directly at text contained in the Masoretic and Received Texts the Interlinear Bible remains the best reference tool. The Interlinear Bible makes it easy to check any English language translation back to the best historically accurate original language texts. Moreover, the prefaces to the Old Testament and New Testament volumes provides valuable historical documentation leading to modem translations of the Bible.
The text format of the Interlinear Bible Old Testament Volumes displays Hebrew text in the correct right to left reading with Strong’s Concordance reference numbers printed above each Hebrew word and a literal English transliteration just below. In a parallel column is an original translation work by Jay P. Green, Sr. and reviewed by other original language scholars to present a particularly easy to read English text. The same format is also followed with the Greek text found in the New Testament Volume with the exception that the Greek text correctly reads left to right.
