Dennis A. Murray

( July 3, 1952 - December 5, 2025 )

Dennis A Murray, age 73, left this world to be with his heavenly father on December 5, 2025. He passed peacefully, surrounded by love and his family.

Dennis was born on July 3rd, 1952, at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California to Arnold and Anna Murray. Upon graduating from Gravette High School in 1970, he went on to attend the University of Arkansas. He married Marion (Denny) Murray in 1978 in Fort Smith, AR, and they were married for 47 years. He started his career working for the United States Postal Service, where he served as Postmaster, Station Manager, and Director of Marketing and Communications at the Regional Sectional Center. He retired from the United States Postal Service in the early nineties. He then started his career at Shepherd’s Chapel, where he remained throughout the entirety of his life. He served as Pastor and President of Operations at Shepherd’s Chapel and continued in his father’s footsteps to bring the word to so many students around the world.

Dennis enjoyed playing and watching many kinds of sports. Dennis had a great love for cars. He was an avid car trader and collector. He enjoyed a sunny afternoon cruising around with the top down. He enjoyed flying, like his dad and brother. He had a personal private pilot’s license. He also enjoyed traveling and experiencing new places and cultures. He enjoyed gardening and planting flowers in the yard. He was a master of orchids. He built Marion a massive field of wildflowers and added to it each year.

Dennis’ life on earth was extraordinary, marked by dedication, humility, and a faithful service to God. He was dearly loved by his friends and family. We have no doubt he was welcomed home with the words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant”.

The family would like to thank everyone for all their love, support, and prayers. Our heartfelt thanks go out to all those involved in his care throughout his lengthy health journey.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Anna Murray; his brother, David Murray and wife, Glenda Murray; and his aunt, Martha Sweeter.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Marion Murray of Gravette, AR, and their two fur babies, Taffy and Boomer; his niece, Jessica Pike and husband, Luther Pike of Hiwasse, AR and their son, Mason Pike;  his cousin, Cliff Alewine and wife, Helen Alewine, of Gravette, AR, and their son, Travis Alewine of Mineral Wells, TX.

A memorial service will be held at the Shepherd’s Chapel Church in Gravette, Arkansas, on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026, at 11:00 AM, officiated by Pastor Luther Pike and Pastor Harl Pike.
