Broadband Viewing Test: Thanks to your suggestions and support the Shepherd’s Chapel may now be able to offer an option for a better quality picture. Since 1997 we have streamed our 24 hour satellite broadcast so that every Internet viewer might have video access to all of our Bible study programming. Such streaming broadcasting is very expensive and our original decision was to reduce the picture quality to help control costs. But many viewers have long desired to view a higher quality picture which would greatly increase costs.
There are many thousands of both domestic and international viewers who simply do not have cost effective resources to view a higher quality picture. So the Chapel will continue to offer our 24 hour streaming video in the traditional format everyone can use for daily Bible study. However, one solution to offering higher quality video. while keeping costs under control, is to offer only the daily TV Bible study for broadband viewers.
We need your input. If you can benefit from a higher quality picture for our daily TV Bible study then please let us know, in writing, if you would like to see this option be continued into the future. If the response is good and resources allow then we might be able to archive a rolling five days of higher quality programming for the current TV Bible studies. The Chapel will not consider mirror sites as a means to multiply server resources so please do not offer your resources or plan to archive daily Bible studies on your web site or encourage others to do so. Years ago, to prevent alteration of his Bible studies, Pastor Murray reluctantly decided to copyright them. For this reason, he asks that everyone respect the Chapel’s need to restrict programming access to our web site.
Please remember to write your comments to the Shepherd’s Chapel as we simply do not have the staff to record phone comments and the Chapel does not offer an email facility either.
